CanWel Building Materials Group Ltd a été fondée en 1989, a installé son siège social à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique, et est inscrite à la Bourse de Toronto sous le symbole CWX. SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced Communications Specialist to look after our new company website andexisting intranet, and to implement the company’s strategy for social media platforms. In this newly created position, you will report to the Director, Human Resources for the day-to-day work, and to the Executive Steering Committee for strategic decisions. If you are confident with your writing skills and comfortable with technology,join CanWel and be in the forefront of creating and implementing the foundation for our revamped digital brand and communication strategy.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:

New CanWel Website Content Maintenance

The Communications Specialist is the content maintenance owner of the new CanWel website.

- Write and update copy content in English and French

- Select imagery to enhance articles

- Edit articles received from contributors for grammar, spelling, and writing styles

- Ongoing updates to job posting, investor relations, and product details and services

- Interview internal subject matter experts for product specific or process specific content, and write articles using information obtained

- Work closely with product marketing team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of product information on website

- Using Zendesk, manage inquiries generated through the website

- Continue website upkeep, design and development to maintain a fresh and modern look

- Establish and act upon external communication strategies in regards to

CanWel Intranet Site:

The Communications Specialist is the owner of the intranet.

- Write and update copy content in English and French

- Continue intranet upkeep, design and development to maintain a fresh and modern look

- Implement software updates

- Manage security access

- Create strategies to increase company and employee usage of intranet


Social Media Response Coordinator:

The Communications Specialist is the coordinator and caretaker of social media platforms.

- Editing and copywriting of all social media content in English and French

- Draft, edit, post, and schedule social media content

- Create and manage social media content calendar

- Using Zendesk to manage inquiries generated through social media

- Identify sensitive issues and potential escalations on social media

- Ensure consistent branding of posts, messages, and replies

- Analyze social media and website analytics to measure performance.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- Exceptional grasp of verbal and written English and French

- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing social media

- Experience with WP Dashboard and WYSIWYG

- Strong communication skills in writing, editing, and imagery selection

- Excellent writing skills for the web and social media

- Demonstrated skills with SEO

- Well organized with excellent knowledge of Canadian social media platform

- Creative, artistic

- Ability to interview internal subject matter experts for information to write articles

Education :

- Degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or similar field

- Courses in writing for the web and writing for social media


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Base salary: $70,000 to $80,000 (based on experience and profile)

Work Location: Downtown Vancouver – very close to Skytrain station.
